The project house is an 1885 Greek Revival home in the historic section of Quinnipiac Avenue in the Fair Haven area of New Haven, CT. Over the years this home had seen a few remodels, including cement shingle siding (cir 1950s) and recent new windows and associated window trim. Unfortunately, much of the historical appearance of the home was buried by the cement shingle siding and the exterior window trim was not historically correct.

Residential Renaissance LLC was tasked with a complete exterior renovation. Included in the scope was the removal of the cement shingle siding, replacing it with Hardie cement clapboards to match the original 4 inch exposure clapboards, and a full replacement of all the window trim, corner boards, frieze boards, watertable boards, and other associated trim details. The goal was to bring the house back to what it most likely looked like in the late 1800s by working with the homeowner and New Haven's Historical Commission.
