This project, in Weston, CT, is a 16-foot by 12-foot garden house, or potting shed. It is built on a foundation made of stone locally harvested on the property. The terrace is 2 inch bluestone. The floor is a herringbone brick over a heat mat. Windows and door are Andersen with SDL grills in a bronze finish. The exterior is a "rain wall", finished in marine-grade finished plywood. The interior walls and ceiling, and exterior trim, are finished with clear red cedar. The house has a 60 Amp subpanel, a potting sink with cold water and foot-controlled faucet and stainless sink, a 2 inch bluestone counter on one side, and a red cedar potting counter on the other with a stainless dirt collection tray below. The roof is EPDM rubber with lead-coated copper gravel stop. A 180-foot by 18 inch deep utility trench carries water and electric to the garden house.
